His point is well made, and it’s one I’ve had to reconsider. During the election, I heard callers on the radio or on posters on blogs saying things like, “this is what it was like when Castro started climbing the ladder in Cuba,” and “we’re one step away from a communist police state,” and other such things. I was disinclined to believe that at the time for a couple of reasons. First, I have believe the vote can change things, so before we ever got there, we could elect change. Second, I’m a glass half full personality with a tendency to think things are exaggerated. Third, I didn’t see Obama running as the hard core leftist he had been before, even thought I knew his record was flamingly liberal. Even though he was crazy liberal, he was still an American, and still someone who would work & serve for the betterment of America.
Crazy Nancy Pelosi, however, is a fruit bat and completely un-American. The question now is whether President Obama will be a leader and stand up to the fringe wingnuts in his party, or if he’ll succumb to pressure from the radical left.
Trying a President for “war crimes” is a horrible, terrible, no good, very bad idea. It opens the door to third world lunacy that is all together above the American station. When you press charges against an outgoing President, you begin to see the crumbling of the peaceful transition of power which has stood as a beacon to the rest of the world for centuries. If Plastic Surgery Pelosi can’t or won’t see that, then she’s clearly unfit for the office she holds.
Thankfully, so far, Barry has distanced himself from specifically saying he will try Bush. He’s not calling Pelosi a crazy-lady to her face, but he’s distancing. We can hope he’ll stick by that. Please make your distaste at the idea of bringing charges against President Bush be know. Find and write your Senator here and your Congressman here.
