Stephanie - the best thinking comes in the wee hours. You're simply making yourself available for those thoughts. I hate the 10th person in line is the first to the new register phenomenon. Join twitter and look me up. Twitter.com/realityunwound. I'll tweet you there!

Daltonsbriefs - Thank you for following! I'm honored to have you around and I look forward to hearing your thoughts. I'm going to check out your site as well. I look forward to the dialogue!

Holy Discontent. Hmmmm... There isn't much holy about a lot of the discontent I see in this world. Seems anything but holy. When we're forunate to have a twinge of HD, then we're on to something special: change. You asked what keeps one up at night? How fitting for me to try and answer that - me, one wbo doesn't sleep much these days. With a good idea that you might be prompting a discussion on something far more deeper than I could ever tap into - I'll share what riles me - WHAT KEEPS ME UP AT NIGHT.

1. Social Networks - Stephanie is now typing nonsense. Stephanie wishes she could sleep.
2. People that make themselves and everyone around them crazy at Christmas time, spend like crazy, create drama, fret over past holiday misgivings, count gifts, buy because someone bought them something, decorate like crazy, and complain while doing so.
3. Cashiers who open up a new register, and announce to the person who just walked up to a line 10 deep that they will take the next customer - and the person actually gets taken next!!
4. Online dating services. A great way to hook yourself up on a blind date, and an even better means to meet serial daters within a pool of just-made-for-you matches. If you are such a great guy who makes friends easily, then why are you on the internet trying to score women?
5. Contented people. Who gives them the right to be content with thier home, job, wife, kids ... loving life just the way it is? We're living in America for crying out loud. These folks make the rest of us look bad. They probably watch NASCAR and do homework with thier kids.

It's late. My truth is that discontent seeps in when I'm not following God. When i'm following God - I'm happy to hear that someone is now baking cookies, prompted to reach out to the one in the uncalled for holiday frenzy, patient with the cashier - forgiving of the ignorant (sorry God - I'm trying) customer, wishing a connection for the lonely dater, and counting my blessings to know a contented soul who makes time for thier kids. Holy Discontent is the Spirit's gift of unease in an uneasy world, and the discernment to make a fruitful change.
